Announcements & Upcoming Events

Did you know there’s only 68 days left until Christmas? If you haven’t got your Christmas cards yet – don’t worry! You can order beautiful Christmas cards from Communitas! Each card designed by a person living with diverse abilities. For more information and to order yours, visit www.CommunitasCare.com/events.

Exodus Art Project! Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in taking part in this communal art project! If you haven’t done so, you can still choose to participate any time. The project has two parts: firstly, a communal paint-by-numbers style painting that you can work on in the church foyer, and secondly, an individual element of painting/drawing on figures that represent the people of Emmanuel. In both cases, all are welcome to participate regardless of artistic ability!

Over the next week, we are working at gathering and preparing all the materials needed for you to participate. Starting Sunday, October 17 and until the end of October, you’ll see art stations set up in our foyer with four canvases that will make up the majority of the art piece.  You’re invited to come and add your brush strokes to these canvases before or after each service. You can also come work on it during the week if you book a time with Rachel (call the church or email: rachel@emmanuelmennonite.com). We’ll also have art kits available in the foyer for the individual element which you can take home and work on. We can deliver these kits to those who cannot come get them. To RSVP for an art kit (especially if you’d like to have a kit delivered), email Angelika Dawson: ajdawson@telus.net.
**Note: for anyone participating in the communal painting, the same Covid-19 restrictions around masking and distancing that we follow on Sundays apply to this project unless you book a separate time to work on it with only members of your household. Please wear a mask!
