Join us this August for five days of fun together as we take on Operation: Restoration! Our kids can be menders of the universe!
But, you think, they’re just kids! How can they be menders of the whole universe? At Operation Restoration, they will practice being universe menders, because that’s exactly how God made all of us. Your kids have been given the power to feed, heal, forgive, pray, and rest—essential tools
to join Jesus in repairing all that is broken in the world. They’ll learn more about their mending powers at Operation Restoration Kids Camp!

Field Trips
The afternoon field trips will be things like the zoo, picnics in the park, and swimming. All field trip costs will be included in the cost of camp.
Note: the exact field trips haven’t been finalized yet. We’ll let you know what they are closer to camp week, and will tell you which one falls on which day once we know the weather forecast so that you know how to prepare for each day!
Camp Ages
These camps are being offered for kids going into grades 1-5. If your child is older than grade 6, maybe they’d like to be a junior volunteer instead! If so, you/they should check out the volunteer page and contact Rachel, our Family Pastor and the EMC Kids Camp Director!
Camp Sunday BBQ
After our week of day camp, you’re all invited back for Camp Sunday on August 16, where our usual Sunday morning church service gets taken over by summer camp fun. We’ll sing camp songs, watch a slideshow of pictures and videos from the camp week, and share some of what we learned. That will be followed by a BBQ lunch! We’d love to see all campers and their families present, with kids in their camp t-shirts!
Waiver
Once we’ve received your sign-up, we’ll send you an email with any follow-up questions. Attached to that email will be the comprehensive liability waiver. One waiver must be completed for each child attending. You can either scan and email the completed forms to rachel@emmanuelmennonite.com or drop the physical copies off at our office (3471 Clearbrook Road) during office hours (9:00 AM-5:30 PM, Monday-Friday).

Q: Is lunch provided? What about other food?
A: Lunch is not provided. If your child is attending the full day camp, please pack a peanut-free lunch and snack. We will provide one morning snack.
Q: What else should my child wear/have for camp?
A: Every day your child should wear clothes and shoes that are good for running around. They are encouraged to wear their camp t-shirts as often as possible. We also encourage you to put sunscreen on them at home since we’ll be outside often, and if you’d like them to re-apply partway through the day then you can leave sunscreen with us.
Each child needs to bring a lunch, a snack, and a water bottle. We’ll have a refill station available. If your child requires a car seat or booster seat, please leave that with us at drop-off each day. Please label all of your child’s stuff ahead of time. Otherwise, the odds are high that things will get mixed up and a different family will take something of yours home.
We’ll let you know if there are specific things your child should bring for specific days, especially for field trips (e.g. swimsuits if we go to the pool).
Q: My child has a friend who doesn’t attend the church, but would like to come to camp. Can they sign up, too?
A: Absolutely! Our camps are open to all kids! Feel free to send the link to this page to anyone you know who might be interested.
Q: My child has a physical or mental condition that makes some activities difficult for them. Can they still come to camp?
A: Of course! You’ll be asked in the sign-up form to describe anything that could limit your child’s participation or require accommodation. Once we have that information, we’ll contact you and figure out together how to ensure that your child feels included and can participate fully whenever possible. If your child’s condition is severe enough that they require one-to-one care or supervision, we may ask that you send a parent or other caregiver, depending on if we have a volunteer with the skills required to take on that role.
Q: Who will be running this camp? Can I trust them with my child?
A: All of our staff and adult volunteers are required to complete a criminal record check. Additionally, we do Child Safe training with our staff and volunteers to ensure we are meeting every standard to keep your children safe and feeling safe! We will also have at least one First Aid certified staff/volunteer around at all times with a fully-stocked first aid kit. Our facility is equipped with first aid kits and an AED.
Q: What’s included in the registration cost? Will there be any extra costs?
A: Registration includes everything except for lunch! That fee covers all activity supplies, all field trip costs, one snack daily, and a t-shirt for every camper! There won’t be any extra costs.
Q: What if I can’t afford to send my kid(s)?
A: We don’t want the cost to be prohibitive for any family sending their kids to camp. We do everything we can to keep costs down, but if the registration fee is just not possible for your family this year, please contact the church to ask about possible discounts for families with multiple kids, or registration subsidies for families who need financial assistance.
